Handbags with legs, a giant sweater, and inflated cars. You can see all this and much more at One Minute Forever, an exhibition by Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm.

His work is characterised by a distinctive sense of humour, exaggeration, and a visual critique of contemporary society. The artist works with ordinary objects familiar to us all, such as clothing, cars, designer fashion accessories, houses, architecture, and furniture, stripping them of their original character. In doing so, he seems to “humanise” these objects.

Through his works, Wurm addresses the critique and crisis of consumerism, social status, blind obedience, entrenched stereotypes, and the ways in which we present and represent ourselves.
