The forest recast as an urban neon sign. Personally I view this light installation of the forest as a true reflection of city life. I employ this material to express the disparity between two worlds. The forest or the countryside – the organisational structure of this environment, life, the multiplicity of forms, danger… all this is familiar to me from the village where I was born and where I live… it contrasts with the simple shapes and tonality of radiant lines, bordering on pictograms, the tree as a sign or brand used by modern society… a simple graphical expression of the forest using lines in space symbolising the progress of civilization, always taking place in the brightly illuminated, yet still cold milieu of urban design. I employ the installation of the forest in space as a placard or sign pointing to this contrasting reality. Markéta Jachimová
