Summer School for Adults at Studio Bubec will offer a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of Patrik Hábl, a prominent figure in contemporary Czech painting. The theme will be plein air painting and drawing in nature. In the surroundings of the Prokop and Dalek valleys, we will explore the structures of the landscape and learn to sensitively translate them into the painting medium. We will look at the landscape from whole to detail, showing how to capture its many layers on paper. 

The studio part of the program will be devoted to the transfer of what we see onto canvas. We will work with the transformation of the landscape using the tools of painting - surface, stain and paint. We will focus on the perception of individual colours and their effect on the human eye, try working with the density of colour and experimental approaches inspired by calligraphy. We will gradually compose individual paintings into a larger pictorial whole. 

The summer school will offer an intensive creative experience combining direct observation of the landscape and the interpretive possibilities of painting for beginning and advanced artists. The program is open to all who wish to create and develop their perception of the landscape. Previous art making experience is not a requirement for participation. Beginners and advanced artists with an interest in painting and drawing are welcome.

Fee includes lecture fee, all art materials, art studio facilities and light refreshments. Meals, transport and accommodation are at your own expense. Works created during the program are the property of the participants. The program will include stimulating discussions about art, space for individualized guidance, and the opportunity to create in the inspiring environment of an art studio with over twenty-five years of history.
