Grandmother's Belt from the (1930s) Summer Dress belongs to a series of scans of things that Markéta Othová has been creating since 2004. Prints, pictures, fabrics, different kinds of clothing and her favorite objects are transferred to images – these objects are scanned on identical scale 1:1 at A4 size – this kind of archive serves as Markéta's personal way of liberation from things.
The naturally colored record from a digital scanner has for an author – who has until then (2004) been working exclusively with black and white photography – become part of the change in direction to color and color photography.
