How can art respond to existential and political crises? Can physical expression and performative gestures become a means of overcoming difficult existential situations, revitalizing human activity, and building deep social solidarity?

A Czech-Ukrainian project Performance in Times of Crisis seeks answers to these questions. Jointly organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology (FaVU VUT) and the Lviv-based civic association Virmenska Thirty Five, with support from the ZMINA: Resilience grant program.

You’ll be able to experience the results of this project—which brings together 4 Czech and 4 Ukrainian artists—during the performance festival in Nová Perla in Kyjov near Krásná Lípa, where it will be held in conjunction with the SudetenFNAF festival, as well as during the 12th annual Festival of Naked Forms at Kafkárna in Prague.
