The Faculty of Architecture at Brno University of Technology invites you to the international conference Planning in Times of Change, which will take place on April 10, 2026, at the KUMST creative hub. The event coincides with the launch of new interdisciplinary degree programs that the faculty will introduce in collaboration with partner institutions starting in the 2026/2027 academic year.
The new programs respond to current challenges associated with the transformation of cities and landscapes – from climate change to social transformations to the growing importance of data and participation. They connect architecture, urbanism, law, information studies and environmental research and bring an integrative approach to spatial planning.
The conference will offer meetings with Czech and international experts and will open a discussion on which approaches, tools, and knowledge are necessary for planning today.
The conference program includes keynote lectures, workshops and panel discussions.

Miodrag Kuč (ZK/U Berlin), Siarhei Liubimau (European Humanities University, Vilnius), Monika Konrad (City of Warsaw / FA BUT) or Jan Malý Blažek (FA BUT).
The program will also include a workshop intended primarily for students interested in studying, who will be able to try out integrative planning approaches in practice.

The conference is intended primarily for applicants to new programs, but is also open to the professional public in the fields of urbanism, spatial planning, and urban and landscape development.
It will offer participants the opportunity to get acquainted with new study programs, meet their guarantors and teachers, and participate in a discussion on current planning challenges.
The programme will be held in Czech and English.
Registration is required for both parts of the program.
The conference is organised in cooperation with partners: FF MUNI, PrF MUNI, CzechGlobe, EHU Vilnius and University of Wrocław.
