Národní galerie Praha, Veletržní palác / Praha 7
On Wednesday, February 25, the Soirée, a traditional joint event of the gallery and residency programs, will take place.
Galerie
The gallery will host guided tours of current exhibitions by Tadeáš Podracký It Grows With You and Jozef Mrva Jr. Challenger Escape Plan with the participation of the artists and curator Jan Gajdušek.
A-I-R Program
The first Open Studios of the year will feature the work of current MeetFactory residents. Their work will be presented during a guided tour by the resident team consisting of Tereza Havelkova, Kateřina Pencová, Soňa Mikulášová and Sasa Vitov.
Together with them you will visit the studios:
Clement Bedel, whose vivid, penetrating works evoke a changing world where the resilience of nature belies ideas of extinction; the Budapest-based artist duo Lörinc Borsos, which is preparing an exhibition at the Kostka Gallery in May as part of the Visegrad project Deconstructing Myths; Olena Kurzel, a painter, sculptor, performance artist and textile artist who moved to Prague from Ukraine last year. In collaboration with tranzit.cz, Yana Bachynska / Jan Bačynsjkyj from Ukraine, dedicated to installations of textile objects and work with masks and folkloric motifs, will be in residence. The studio will also be opened by Marty Quell, a multidisciplinary artist and performer from Ireland, living and studying in London, who is developing his project The World of Donny; Marie Tučková, who will focus on researching and preparing her second music album and working on textile paintings during the residency; and Jakub Słomkowski, whose work observes how the realms of the sacred and profane influence the human imagination, and seeks ways to communicate between the living and inanimate worlds. Permanent resident Darrell Jónsson aka Urban Space Epics will also open his studio.
