OPEN STUDIOS ON TOUR: The New Dictionary of Old Ideas / MeetFactory AIR Program

… since we all deal with DICTIONARY on daily basis it is definitely needed to emphasize how weak and inadequate this form is. After all no matter how many terms and keywords we will be trying to gather and describe it is never enough!

Our biggest enemy is metaphors. This poetic form we cannot rely on transforms and change which makes is uneasy to catch and elaborate on. As Friedrich Nitsche already stated - the armies of metaphors are followed by new metaphors making it a constant flux of meanings that we are hopelessly trying to grasp and describe.

This year half of our residency program is dedicated to The Dictionary of Old Ideas that should reshape the way we think about Central Europe.
In cooperation with House of Arts in Brno we would like to continue this program focusing more on art production, knowledge production, and studio practice.

The project One Word Glossary relates to one term often used and incorporated in artist's practice. We will make an attempt catch and describe them using bizarre form of reality tv shows.

In cooperation with Daniel Hüttler we are going to create a map of words which can be used in order to have a better understanding of artists practice.
