Richard Štipl – La petit mort
11. 07. 2026 - 27. 09. 2026
Malý val 1552/9, 767 01 Kroměříž
Imagine living in a remote mountain village and witnessing the magnificent Milky Way, unobscured by light pollution, stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s no wonder that the star motif is a significant symbol on tribal rugs. For centuries, the Caucasus has provided refuge to nomadic peoples who were driven out of more hospitable regions.
The gallery’s founder and collection owner, Josef Maixner, will guide you through the exhibition Three Senses. You’ll see carpets not only from the Caucasus, but also from Persia, Turkmenistan, and Turkey, as well as contemporary works by the legendary Czech tapestry artist Eva Brodská and tapestries by Karima Al-Mukhtar.
