The exhibition Unknown City presents the first comprehensive look at the work of painter Tomáš Němec (*1986), a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, whose work is characterized by naturalistic, sensitive expression, in which observation of reality is intertwined with personal emotions, memories and experiences.

The exhibition will offer a cross-section of the artist's oeuvre – from early still lifes, portraits and figurative scenes that stem from his fascination with the Old Masters and his study of oil painting techniques, to intimate nudes and landscapes where the human body and nature become vehicles for emotions and stories. The German is inspired by the beauty of the everyday, but also transforms it into subjective images that tell a story of fragility, transience and the desire to capture fleeting moments.
