The films of Jaroslav Kučera, especially those on which he cooperated with Věra Chytilová, feature expressive stylization with a number of visual effects. Their fascinating visuality, often nearing abstraction, is the result of many experiments over the course of filming and in film laboratories as well. Jiří Šimůnek, cinematographer, artist, author of numerous special and visual effects in film, and assistant to Jaroslav Kučera, will describe in his lecture how these effects originated.
