Organic matter in sharp contrast with technological dystopia. Environmental grief and anxiety in the daily struggle for dignified survival in a crumbling era. Vojtěch Winkler presents a story that is disturbingly familiar. He draws on classic genre works such as the cult classic Ghost in the Shell and Simulacra by French sociologist Jean Baudrillard.
The exhibition was created specifically for the gallery space, and the works will be on display for the very first time.
Winkler's work straddles various media, creating a dialogue between analog and digital forms. Each work is an intense meditation on contemporary existential questions, including the nature of consciousness and its manifestations in cyberspace. It engages in a critical analysis of socio-political themes, revealing hidden layers of identities that are constantly evolving and transforming in response to changing conditions.
