Two people can experience the same moment and yet remember it differently. Over time, the gap between what actually happened, what was recorded, and what we remember only widens.

Liquid Memory is created from a shared archive of photographs and sounds by Barbora Cicoňová and Patrik Kučavík. A time gap emerges between their recording and their rediscovery. The film awaits development, the recording remains stored, and the memory transforms in the meantime. When the artists return to these materials, they are simultaneously returning to something they already know, yet which feels somewhat foreign to them. These recordings bear the imprint of the time that has elapsed since then.

It is precisely in this interim that Liquid Memory emerges—in the space between what actually happened, what was captured, and what we can recall of it today. Here, memory is not a fixed reflection of the past, but something that is constantly shifting, blending, and being reassembled.
