Bronislava Bakule Malá, Tomáš Hrůza – What Burns, Remains
03. 09. 2026 18:00
Entrance Gallery / Praha 6 – Dejvice
The exhibition What Burns, Remains focuses on the disruption of forest ecosystems—particularly as a result of fires, logging, and landscape colonization—as well as the subsequent possibilities for regeneration. The works on display address the critical state of forests following fires or other destructive events. It presents a collective project focused on the transformation of the forest landscape in the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on the 2022 fire in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, and the stories that unfold between the destruction that has taken place and the subsequent difficult recovery.
The exhibition will feature photographs, paintings, and video recordings from the field. The gallery setting will also be complemented by a spatial intervention in the form of a wooden structure evoking a forest refuge, symbolically offering shelter from the ravages of the elements—or from the difficult reflections on humanity’s stewardship of nature.
