Who is the room for one for? Who inhabits this intimate space? The torso of a woman, anxiety, a chair, the shadow of absence. The single room is cluttered and half-empty. Its temporary guests are gripped by the relentless precariousness of fate and the moment. The atmosphere of the incompleteness of the bodies and the fluid balance of the objects comes from the motifs and their placement on the surface of the canvas. Nothing is seen in its entirety: faces are obscured or out of the frame. Everything is carefully constructed, which makes the concern about what is not revealed all the more acute. Faceless people live in the single room and hands are raised to the unknown. The triangular composition speaks of calm and harmony; the austerity of the motifs could aim for clarity. But do not expect peace and idyll here.
