Traces that cut deep beneath the skin, traces that vanish forever, and even those that remain hidden from our eyes—they are constantly present.

Lenka Kamínková (*1982) captures in her paintings the intense experience of the landscape around the headwaters of the Bečva River—a place that is an inseparable part of her family lineage, a place associated with both birth and death. She has intimately mapped this space, from the delicacy of dust to the mass of hilly outcrops. She moves on the border between the role of an observer and that of a direct participant. In her interpretation, the landscape becomes a living organism, a bearer of memories, emotions, and silent stories that layer within it and are gradually revealed.
