Through two exhibitions this year, we will commemorate two significant figures in Brno’s art scene: photographer Miroslav Myška and printmaker Jiří Havlíček. They are connected not only by their generation but also by their membership in the now legendary group of young poets, visual artists, and performers known as the “Brno Bohemians” (1966–1972). In this environment, full of exaggeration, pranks, poetry readings, and happenings, both were able to realize their artistic ambitions while also finding an escape from the reality of socialist Czechoslovakia.
