Truth' is a strong word. So is the word 'Sculpture'. The shared destiny of sculptures and truths is to be continually replaced by their more current forms. Throughout the long history of both, we have exhausted so many possibilities that where the truth is or what a sculpture is might just remain unclear. The exhibition called On the Contrary, however, doesn't stand for a denial of fundamental values. Installations, sculptures, performances and works capturing unusual spatial positions of human beings are connected through their desire to overcome the banality of everyday objects and find balance in situations, which might seem unstable or transitory at first glance. Works by five international artists pose questions about the sense of things, while using intelligent humor as one of their layers. They address the words 'truth' and 'sculpture' from different points of view, offering both direct and quite unpredictable solutions.
