ŠMERAL ART FACTORY is a contemporary art gallery and cultural space located within the industrial complex of the still-operating Šmeral factories in Brno. It is located in a former factory hall by the Svitava River, whose authentic character has become a natural part of the gallery’s identity.

The program focuses on contemporary visual art, showcasing both established and emerging artists, and provides a space for exhibitions, performances, lectures, guided tours, and other accompanying events. The gallery strives to connect artists, curators, collectors, and the general public, and aims to be an open space for engaging with contemporary art.

ŠMERAL ART FACTORY builds on the more than twenty-year tradition of the legal Graffiti Wall Šmeral and develops the potential of the industrial complex as a vibrant cultural hub. It was deliberately not conceived as a classic “white cube,” but as a space where the history of manufacturing naturally intersects with contemporary culture.

The gallery was founded by Martin Adamec and Eva Prázdná, who serves as its director. Petr Hájek from The Chemistry Gallery collaborates on the gallery’s programming and curatorial direction.
