Textiles are among the most intimate materials in human culture – they touch the body and carry traces of identity, care, and memory. At the same time, however, they are among the most problematic products of our time, burdened by gender stereotypes, overproduction, and environmental impact.

Created for the Open Studios Days in South Moravia, this group exhibition explores textiles as a medium reflecting the ambivalent relationships between the body, landscape, and the global economy. The region’s connection to its textile heritage is also reflected in the exhibition’s setting at ŠMERAL ART FACTORY, located in the immediate vicinity of the former Vlněna and Mosilana textile factories.
