What should our response be to technology at present? Some blame technical rationality for steamrollering over nature and for the loss of any meaningful relationship between humankind and the world, while others pin all their hopes for a resolution of global crises on scientific and technological innovations. If both these extremes seem to you to be equally futile, there are still painterly techniques, techniques promoting self-control, and techniques to help you fall asleep.
