This exhibition of photographs from the first
half of the 20 th century is the first in a three-part
presentation given by the Moravian Gallery, which
holds one of the oldest photographic collections
in Europe, to mark the 50 th anniversary of its
establishment in 1962. This year’s exhibition
will showcase and give some priority to avant-
garde photography, as well as featuring more
conservative work, the “real life” snapshots
that were once so essential to illustrated
magazines, socially engaged photography and
promotional photographs. Photography from
the 19 th century and the second half of the
20 th century will be presented in 2012. The full
spectrum of photography will appear, conveyed
by means of 200 photographs, the work of the
most representative photographers of their
times. The exhibition will be accompanied by
a publication mapping the photographic collection
of the Moravian Gallery, comprising work from
1841–2000.

Entrance fee 80/40 CZK; family 170 CZK; group 30 CZK/person
