May the intentionally empty pattern of "contemporary painting" be understood socially? And where does the gender asymmetry reflects on work with abstraction? Martina Smutna starts a reflection upon work conditions for others and herself. Her installation confronts patterns of objects associated with reproductive work together with abstraction of contemporary painting, which, on the contrary of reproduction, establishes itself as author’s work. The story of Mrs. Jane, who works in the laundry room, is leaking through a chain of pictures and objects. We find ourselves at the moment of rest, removing the dish towel from the handrail.
