In his theoretical research and artistic practice Jan Lesák (*1984) explores the possibilities of working with already existing works, artefacts, formal structures or ideas. He consistently works in the medium of photography at multiple levels. He is interested in the boundary formal alternatives of the photographic medium - objectness, non-depiction and digressions into abstraction. For Lesák the medium of photography is also attractive from the point of view of its function as documenting and recording works of art and possibilities of subsequent interpretation. For the spaces of Galerie G99 he will prepare an exhibition of the latest works which will continue in the footsteps of his previous artistic practice. In the spatial photographic installation he will fully develop an accent on formal purity and a minimalist reductive aesthetic with regard to the materiality of the photographic medium and its radical technological metamorphosis which has happened in recent years.
