The exhibition Mental Hygiene By a Cat is the culmination of Tereza Velíková and Bára Mrázková’s long-term interest in the distribution, transformation and translation of images within digital environments.

Here, the artists employ analogue media to physically test the reach and agency of the synthetic image within the gallery, exploring how digital visuality permeates physical space and, in turn, reshapes it. The central motif is the cat, which they understand as a collectively shared symbol and a projection screen for human emotions and social conditions.
