Galerie Benedikta Rejta presents two exhibitions František Kyncl – Trommel and Martin Janíček – Sound Projects, which connect visual art with sound, rhythm and spatial experience. The project builds on the exhibition trilogy KRÁSA-HRA-DUŠE and expands the gallery space towards an interactive and multisensory perception of contemporary art.
František Kyncl – Trommel
The exhibition devoted to František Kyncl (1934–2011) presents a cross-section of the work of the important representative of Czech constructive art, who gained international recognition after his emigration to Germany in 1968. The exposition includes structural paintings, drawings, spatial objects and experimental works linking visual art with sound and music.
The core part consists of the so-called phonetic paintings created in 1979–1985 on a rotary drum constructed by the artist Trommel. In them, Kyncl translated rhythm, ambient movements and musical recordings into dynamic layers of colour and gesture. The exhibition also includes an original Trommel drum and authentic sound recordings used in the creation process.

Martin Janíček – Sound Projects
Martin Janíček presents a new interactive installation combining sound objects, experimental music and spatial composition. The artist, who has long been working between acoustic experimentation, sculpture and site-specific installation, works with recycled materials to create original instruments and sound situations that actively engage visitors.
The project refers, among other things, to the experiments of Zdeněk Pešánek and his concept of coloured music. The exhibition will also include a sound projection The Voice of the Landscape, created in collaboration with Pavel Mrkus and inspired by the landscape of the Bohemian Central Highlands.
